Assault Frigate Weaponary: 20 Quad Laser Cannons 15 Laser Cannons 15 Turbolaser Batteries   A mainstay of the Rebel fleet, the Alliance's "Assault Frigates" are modified versions of Rendili's Dreadnaught. All such ships have been altered so that the required crew and necessary maintenance is substantially reduced. Much of the internal structure is exposed to space, and fin-mounted engines provide added maneuverability A revised version of Rendili's Dreadnaught-class starship, the assault frigate was stripped of its outer shell to increase engine capacity and fuel efficiency. Two dorsal solar fins were also added, increasing maneuverability and energy production. There were no docking bays on an assault frigate, but there were 20 retractable docking tubes that could be extended from the ship's holds. The assault frigate was also equipped with a great deal of droid and computer-automated systems.
