The Imperial University

Entrance Core Course Notes {CORE}

Welcome Cadet. Let me be the first to welcome you to the Imperial Directorate and University. In this, your Initial Entrance Exam, we will be focusing on how the Imperial Directorate works. Training on your respective branch and job will come afterwards. We will be focusing in four areas in this exam:

1) Military Council and their jobs and responsibilities.
2) Chain of Command and Request Forms.
3) Constitution and Code of Conduct.
4) What’s expected of you, the member.

**NOTE: It is advised that you have some passing familiarity with the Operations Manual before taking this exam. While we strive to provide as much useful information in the course notes, some additional information may be required that can be found in this manual.

Military Council

Executor of the Imperial Directorate – The Executor is the overall leader and owner of the Imperial Directorate. Although he follows the council and advice of the other members, he has the final say in all matters.

Chancellor of the Imperial Senate – The leader of the Directorate Senate, he is also the second in command of the entire club and the chief disciplinarian.

Headmaster of the Imperial University – The first person a recruit deals with. The Headmaster helps you get through your training and is always looking for new ways to teach members.

Director of Imperial Operations – Handles all awards, promotions and transfers. A vital link in the command chain of the Directorate.

Director of Imperial Development - In charge of the fictional development of the Directorate as well as all the multi player gaming areas of the club.

Imperial Navy Fleet Commander – In command of the Naval Fleets and the infamous Starfighter Corps.

501st Legion Field Commander – The leader of the historical 501st Stormtrooper Legion, our elite ground forces that handle all the ground defenses and campaigns.

Chain of Command and Request Forms

Chain of command is one of the most important aspects of being a member and is important to all branches of the Directorate. Everything you do from making a report to asking a question should go through your chain of command. By chain of command I mean your first line supervisor.

For example if you are a member of the Navy then you would refer questions to your Ship Captain. If he cant help you then you go to the Battlegroup Commander and then ultimately to the Fleet Commander.

You do not go running to the Executor or straight to the Fleet Commander without talking to your Ship Captain first. It is just common courtesy and military protocol. This applies to all branches.

Request Forms

On the main Imperial Directorate page in the upper left hand corner there is a link called Requests. This is how all requests are made. There is a link for promotion and medal requests, as well as for submitting competition and transfer requests. This is how things get processed in the Directorate for all branches. You DO NOT just email the Director of Operations with what you want because all such informal requests will be DELETED.

In addition, you do not seek out the Executor to make such requests; he will always redirect your attention to the Director of Operations and the forms listed above. Failure to follow these policies could result in an unnecessary delay on the processing of your request.

Constitution

The Imperial Directorate Constitution is the foundation that this club is built upon. It contains the clubs most basic rules and regulations, and should be read by everyone. Things that are outlined are the below:
  • Powers of the Executor
  • Impeachment Procedures
  • Military Council Powers
  • Promotions and Awards
  • Disciplinary Actions
  • Penalties
  • Members Rights

Code of Conduct

As with all militaries throughout the universe, and all online clubs, we have a code of conduct that outlines what your behavior should be and how you should treat others. The main points I want to stress to all members are those listed below:

Privileges of Rank - Regardless of how much a senior officer is upsetting you or being impolite you show respect to his or her rank at all times. If that officer was acting inappropriately make a log of the conversation or the alleged action and email the log to your superior officer. If the allegation is against your superior officer, then submit the complaint and log to the next person in your chain of command.

IRC Conduct – While in the ID’s channel you will behave yourself and watch your language at all times. You will not verbally harass other members, and if you have a problem with someone you will privately message them. You DO NOT fight and argue in the main channel. This sets a bad example to new and potential members, or members of allied clubs, who may be visiting the channel at any time.

Courtesy to all – While everyone will not always get along, be sure to show respect and common courtesy to everyone.

Other Clubs do NOT matter – Incidents, arguments or disagreements of any kind between members in a different club do not belong in the Imperial Directorate. Do not use your rank, position or any other Directorate influence to get even with a Directorate member for something they may have done in another club. You will be punished severely for any violations of this article.

What is expected of you, the member?

You are expected to report in to your superior officer at least once a week by email. You are expected to have fun and be courteous to everyone.

We would like to see you at least participate in one to two activities every week and at least one competition a month. In addition training if of the utmost importance, and it is expected that as a member of the Imperial Directorate that you will seek out the use of the Imperial Universities wide range of training material to help you become a better and more knowledgeable member.

You are expected to announce any and all Leave of Absences (LoA) to your commanding officer no less than 48 hours before the start of the LoA period. Any period of time where you may be gone more then two weeks with no communication with your chain of command may result in your removal to reserves. Therefore it is crucial that you keep your superiors aware of your circumstances at all times to avoid any disruptions in your active service to the club. The Imperial Directorate understands that emergencies may occur and that in these cases it is impossible to warn anyone in advance, however it is the member’s responsibility to ensure that at some point their superiors are informed as soon as possible.
