Linguistics Exam - Huttese
* Opening
This exam is based almost entirely on the article 'Hagwa Cheeska Hutt : Words To Live By' by Ebenn Q3 Baobab & Jason Fry in Star Wars Gamer Volume 1, Issue 5. I claim no ownership to there work I am merely transfering it for the use of the ID.
=====
* Introduction
Hello all. Welcome to the first linguistics exam, hopefully not the last. I'll be brief, this exam will not make you fluent in Huttese but since they're are most famous employers it is a nice gesture to know some of there language.
=====
* Arithmetic - The Hutt's have eight fingers, so there counting is based on eight and not ten like humans, this has caused confusion when dealing with absolute numbers. A Hutt offering twelve would only equal to ten in Basic. The following chart might help :
=====
* Phrases - Arithmatic a little confusing? Trust me I am a natural linguist and it gives me a headache. Lets go on now to Phrases. A quick note, an 'X' in Huttese is pronounced by making a wet snap of the lips, like an aggresive kissing sound.
