CHAPTER FIVE - COMMUNICATIONS
The Imperial Directorate uses a variety of media with which to communicate with its members. One of these, of course, is the Imperial Directorate web page. Another popular method is the Message Boards on the Imperial Directorate Forum. Many members also use instant messengers, such as ICQ, AOL Instant Messenger, MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger and others.
One of the primary means of communication are the Imperial Directorate IRC Channel. The ID channel is #Imperial_Directorate and can be found on the IRC Undernet server. Internet Relay Chat (IRC) can be downloaded at www.mirc.com. If you have any questions relating to IRC contact the Executor (EXE@imperialdirectorate.org). All members are expected to follow the Codes of Conduct while in the Imperial Directorate’s and allies’ channels.
All users, whether they be ID or non-ID members are to respect other users at all times. If you have a personal disagreement with someone in an ID channel, take the conversation OUTSIDE the channel and resolve the matter privately. Specific positions are granted administrative access, which is detailed below.
While the ID does not wish to restrict free speech, it is advised that members refrain from using profanity and insulting language whenever possible due to the varying ages of our members. Anyone found to be repeatedly abusing other users with profanity or inflammatory language shall be dealt with by the Executor and the Chancellor directly. The ID channels already have filters and presets in place to limit flooding and spamming. However, users are restricted from attempting to post more than 100 words in a 3 second period. The Military Council has complete jurisdiction over the ID channels, whereas the Executor has complete authority and ownership of said channels. In addition, any members found to be in violation of any spoken or written policies regarding use of the ID channel shall be dealt with as necessary by the Executor and Chancellor.
