CHAPTER ONE - MEDALS AND AWARDS

Merit Medals:

All medals listed below require final approval and awarding from the Director of Imperial Operations, except in cases where the medal can be awarded by the Executor or Legion Commander. All other medals are based on recommendations from officers of the Imperial Directorate and must be submitted for approval and awarding by the Legion Commander.


First Echelon

Fist of Palpatine (FoP): The Fist of Palpatine is the highest honor given in the Imperial Directorate. The medal is forged from mix of gold and platinum and shaped by the greatest smiths in the galaxy. Sapphires from Voltan give the medal is glorious accent. The Palpatine’s fist is created by cutting the sapphires to form the intricate detail of the fist in the center. The award is given such honor that the ribbon’s fabric is intertwined with gold and platinum threading to give it a peculiar shine. Most officers of the Directorate will never receive this high honor; however those members who have will have their name spoken with reverence as long as the Empire exists. This award is given solely by the Executor, and may be awarded only once to an exceptional officer.








Tarkin Cluster (TC): The Tarkin Cluster is named after the greatest Executor of the Empire, and is awarded to an officer who has shown a great deal of initiative and motivation during their time in the Imperial Directorate. Through their contributions these officers have greatly changed the face of the Imperial Directorate for the better. These officers have made the Imperial Directorate a better place by having them be a part of it. Few officers of the Imperial Directorate will ever receive this medal. This award is given solely by the Executor, and may be awarded only once to an exceptional officer.










Band of the Council (BC): The Band of the Council is a rare and exceptional honor, revealing the dedication of members of the Military Council toward the Imperial Directorate. The Band of the Council is unique as it is the only award not worn on the uniform proper, as it is a ring. The Band is forged from platinum and accented with a Voltan emerald, engraved with the seal of the Imperial Directorate on its face. Each ring is personalized with the Minister’s name being engraved in the inner loop. A Councilor who has served in a variety of positions and exceptional time with great success may be awarded the Band of the Council by the Executor of the Imperial Directorate.






Second Echelon

Order of the Directorate (OD): The Order of the Imperial Directorate is awarded for extreme service and excellence in the Directorate. An officer who is awarded the Order of the Imperial Directorate has given the group substantial time and effort and will answer any call of duty. The Order of the Imperial Directorate is most typically the highest award any officer of the Directorate has the ability to receive. The Executor and the Legion Commander may award the Order of the Directorate, and it may only be awarded a maximum of three times.










Cross of Glory (CoG): The Cross of Glory is given to an officer who has brought great glory to the Directorate. This medal is typically awarded for the completion of massive projects, or for consistent excellence over extended periods of time. Any member of the Military Council may award the Cross of Glory.












Distinguished Medal of the Imperial Directorate (DMD): The Distinguished Medal of the Imperial Directorate is awarded for services towards the Imperial Directorate for extended periods of time. The officer must be, as the medal is named, distinguished from their fellow officers through consistent activity and communication within their immediate unit. Any officer of the Military Council may award the Distinguished Medal of the Imperial Directorate.










Third Echelon

Legion of Daltar (LoD): The Legion of Daltar is awarded to members who have shown great loyalty and commitment to the Imperial Directorate, who goes far above and beyond the call of duty and performing at a very high level. Such officers have made great contributions, and can always be counted upon. The recipient of this medal is the "example officer". This can be awarded by Battlegroup Commanders, Battle Air Group Commanders, Battalion Commanders and above.











Pestage Star (PS): The Pestage Star, named after Emperor Palpatine’s Grand Vizier, Sate Pestage is awarded to an officer who has excelled in their position, always attempting to promote activity while being part of the activities they promote. The Pestage Star may also be awarded to those who have done exceptional tasks that require more recognition than a Jerjerrod Cross but not as high as a Legion of Daltar. The Pestage Star may be awarded by Battlegroup Commanders, Battle Air Group Commanders, Company Commanders and above.










Jerjerrod Cross (JC): The Jerjerrod Cross is named after former Moff Jerjerrod, in honor of his exceptional service to the Directorate. This medal may be awarded to an officer who has shown extreme loyalty to the Directorate. It may also be awarded to an officer for expanding upon the duties of his position. The Jerjerrod Cross may be awarded by Battlegroup Commanders, Battle Air Group Commanders, Company Commanders and above.












Star of Domination (SoD): The Star of Domination is the basic merit medal in the Directorate and is given for consistent service and dedication to one's position, adding to the good of the Imperial Directorate. The Star of Domination may be awarded by Ship Captains, Squadron Commanders, Squad Leaders and above.












Celebration Medals:

Diplomacy Seal (DS): The Diplomacy Seal is awarded three times a year on the anniversary of the day the Imperial Directorate was founded, April 29th, on Executor Orzon’s Birthday, August 29th and as a New Year’s resolution for continued activity on January 1st of each new year. A week prior to the date, the Legion Commander will request recommendations for the Diplomacy Seal. In the Imperial Navy, each Battlegroup/Battle Air Group Commander will be allotted five recommendations. The Fleet and Flight Officer may approve or deny these recommendations. The Fleet and Flight Officer are given one additional recommendations to be given to the Imperial Navy Fleet Commander. In the Imperial Legion, each Company Commander is given three recommendations to be sent to the Battalion Commander who is given an additional two to submit to the 501st Legion Field Commander. In addition, each Military Council member may submit one recommendation, excluding the Executor and Legion Commander who may award or deny as many as they see fit. All recommendations must be received to the Legion Commander before the date. The Diplomacy Seal for each member must receive final approval from the Executor of the Imperial Directorate.








Competition Medals:

Cross of Superiority (CoS): The Cross of Superiority is awarded to those officers who have shown great dedication to their unit in competitions. To obtain this medal, an officer must compete in extreme amounts of competitions and be successful. This medal is awarded by the Director of Operations, Legion Commander or Executor.











Medal of Valor (MoV): The Medal of Valor is awarded in recognition of combat efforts in the name of the Imperial Directorate. The Medal of Valor represents excellence in multiplayer combat arts. Those who have amassed a great many of these medals are counted among the great combat masters of the Imperial Directorate. The Medal of Valor is awarded for multiplayer matches in all platforms supported by the Imperial Directorate. The breakdown for this awarding is as follows:

For Jedi Knight, Jedi Outcast, Jedi Academy TIE Fighter, X-Wing Alliance and X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter:
Match Victory - Two (MoV)s
Match Loss – One (MoV)

For Empire at War, Forces of Corruption, Battlefront, Battlefront II, and SW Galactic Battlegrounds (and Clone Campaigns)*:
Match Victory - Three (MoV)s
                              Match Loss – Two (MoV)s

*Due to the length of these games’ matches, the awarding count is higher.


Medal of Unity (MoU): The Medal of Unity is awarded to members of the Imperial Directorate for efforts in an official club Role-playing event. Members that participate in any group Run-on on the Message Board, or participate in a Live Run-on hosted on IRC, will receive the Medal of Unity. Members who hold claim to many Medals of Unity are considered to be great soldiers within the field. This medal is awarded by the Director of Development, or any other authorized host of a RPing event.
























Medal of Strategy (MoS): The Medal of Strategy is awarded for winning a competition in the Imperial Directorate. To award a Medal of Strategy, one must get approval from the Director of Imperial Operations. Listed below are the degrees of the Medal of Strategy and how it is to be awarded.

Bronze Ribbon (MoS-BR): Winner of a Ship/Squad/Squadron competition, runner-up for a System competition, or third place for a Sector competition.
Silver Ribbon (MoS-SR): Winner of a Battlegroup/Wing/Platoon competition, runner-up for a Sector competition, third place in a branch-wide competition.
Gold Ribbon (MoS-GR): Winner of a Sector/Company competition, third place in a Directorate-wide competition, runner-up in a branch-wide competition.
Platinum Ribbon (MoS-PR): Winner of a branch-wide competition, Runner-up in a Directorate-wide competition.
Diamond Ribbon (MoS-DR): Winner of a Directorate-wide competition.

Service Medals:


















Medal of Recruitment (MoR): The Medal of Recruitment is awarded to a member who recruits another member into the Imperial Directorate. The Medal of Recruitment is requested by the Headmaster of the Imperial University, but awarded by the Director of Operations.

Medal of Recruitment (MoR): 1 recruit
Medal of Recruitment with Bronze Bars (MoR-BB): 5 recruits
Medal of Recruitment with Silver Bars (MoR-SB): 10 recruits
Medal of Recruitment with Gold Bars (MoR-GB): 15 recruits
Medal of Recruitment with Platinum Bars (MoR-PB): 20 recruits
Medal of Recruitment with Diamond Bars (MoR-DB): 25 recruits

















Directorate Service Medal (DSM): The Imperial Directorate Service Medal is awarded for long service towards the Imperial Directorate. This award is automatic on the anniversary date that the member joined the Imperial Directorate.

Directorate Service Medal (DSM): 1 year
Directorate Service Medal with Bronze Leaves (DSM-BL): 2 year
Directorate Service Medal with Silver Leaves (DSM-SL): 3 years
Directorate Service Medal with Gold Leaves (DSM-GL): 4 years
Directorate Service Medal with Platinum Leaves (DSM-PL): 5 years
Directorate Service Medal with Diamond Leaves (DSM-DL): 6 years

**Note: Upon reaching the seventh year of service, the Imperial Directorate Service Medal with Bronze Leaves will become the eighth and so on. It would be portrayed in the ID Line as follows: (DSM-DL-BL).


Medal of Scholar (MoSc): The Medal of Scholar is awarded to a member who has achieved an excellent score on a Imperial University course. This is the only award in the Imperial Directorate that is awarded exclusively by the Headmaster.

Medal of Scholar-First Grade (MoSc-1): 100% on exam
Medal of Scholar-Second Grade (MoSc-2): 95+% on exam





Medal of Creation (MoC): The Medal of Creation is awarded to members for the creation of new courses that are approved and released by the Imperial University. Only the Headmaster may recommend this award, and it must be approved by the Director of Operations.








Imperial Directorate Dispatch Newsletter Awards:

The following medals are awarded for various levels of accomplishment and assistance in submitting an item, or assisting an Editor of the Imperial Directorate Dispatch Newsletter.















Medal of Penmanship (MoP): The Medal of Penmanship is awarded to a member who contributes to the Directorate Dispatch. A MoP will be awarded for each individual submission to the newsletter.

For every 5 submissions one of the awards listed below will be given.

Medal of Penmanship with Pine Script (MoP-PS): For submitting 5 articles
Medal of Penmanship with Oak Script (MoP-OS): For submitting 10 articles
Medal of Penmanship with Maple Script (MoP-MS): For submitting 15 articles
Medal of Penmanship with Birch Script (MoP-BS): For submitting 20 articles
Medal of Penmanship with Ebony Script (MoP-ES): For submitting 25 articles


Newsletter Merit Medals:

Creator's Braid (CB): A gold-colored braided medal awarded to an officer for outstanding submissions in both quantity and quality. This medal may also be awarded to editors who have exceeded expectations and made great strives with the ID Dispatch.














Crusader Star (CS): The Crusader's Star is awarded to a Dispatch staff member who has shown service and dedication to their section and attempted to increase the quality of the Imperial Directorate Dispatch.














Coursca Cluster of Achievement (CCA): The Coursca's Cluster of Achievement is awarded to those who have contributed excellent items to the Imperial Directorate Dispatch, adding to its quality and character.














Medal Placement in ID Lines:

Medals are to be placed in the order in which they appear in this manual, starting with Merit Medals, the Fist of Palpatine to the Star of Domination, then the Competition Medals, the Cross of Superiority to the Medal of Strategy with Bronze Leaves, finishing with Other Medals, beginning with Medal of Recruitment down to the Medal of Penmanship.

After receiving additional medals of the same kind, an x# will be placed after the parentheses, unless otherwise noted. Example: (JC)x3
