General (GEN): The rank of General is awarded to an extremely successful and active 501st Legion Field Commander.

Lieutenant General (LGN): This rank is awarded for excellence to the 501st Legion Field Commander and the maximum rank for only the elite of Battalion Commanders. This is the highest rank attainable for a Battalion Commander.

Major General (MGN): The rank of Major General is awarded to extremely active Battalion Commanders and the entry-level rank for 501st Legion Field Commander.

Brigadier General (BGN): This rank is awarded to extremely active Battalion Commanders.

High Colonel (HCL): This rank is awarded to active Battalion Commanders.

Colonel (COL): The rank of Colonel is the entry rank for a Battalion Commander.

Lt. Colonel (LTC): This is the highest rank a Company Commander may achieve and is given for extreme activity and company excellence.

Major (MAJ): This rank is awarded to highly active Company Commanders.

Captain (CPT): The rank of Captain is the entry rank for Company Commanders. Only the best Platoon Commanders may also achieve this rank. This is the highest rank a Company level armored unit Squad Leader may hold.

Lieutenant (LT): This rank is awarded to extremely active Platoon Commanders.

Second Lieutenant (SLT): The rank of Second Lieutenant is given as the entry level rank for Platoon Commanders, Company level armored Squad Leaders and upon completion the Officer Training School exam.

Elite Ranks:

Master Warrant Officer (MWO): Qualified to operate any vehicle in the IL arsenal. Enlisted officers that hold this rank are typically designated as Platoon level Armored Squad Commanders. The Master Warrant Officer is the most revered enlisted rank within the entire Imperial Legion. The troopers that hold this rank are battle-hardened veterans that have seen and done it all. The MWO is considered the elite of the elite, and are rated second to none in combat. They are the few, the proud, the elite.

Chief Warrant Officer (CWO): This rank is awarded for extremely high activity and generally given to the executive officer of an armored squad.

Warrant Officer First Class (WO1): This rank is awarded to elite officers who have been active in their units for a prolonged period of time. This is the minimum rank for Company level Armored Unit members.

Warrant Officer Second Class (WO2): This rank is awarded to enlisted officers that have made their way into the elite units of the Legion and excelled in them. This is the entry rank for Platoon level armored unit members.

Non-commissioned ranks:

Sergeant Major (SGM): The rank of Sergeant Major is very rare. A trooper holding this rank has been active and devoted to the Legion for an extreme period of time and can be relied upon no matter what the mission is.

First Sergeant (FSG): The rank of First Sergeant is possible to achieve but very rare. Only the most dedicated and exceptional troopers can obtain this rank.

Master Sergeant (MSG): This rank is most likely the highest rank attainable in a normal career without attaining armored or commissioned ranks.

Gunnery Sergeant (GSG): The rank Gunnery Sergeant is awarded to exceptional Squad Leaders as well as loyal and dedicated troopers.

Staff Sergeant (SSG): The rank of Staff Sergeant is the minimum rank required to apply for the Armored Units Program. Extremely active Sergeants are capable of achieving this rank.

Sergeant (SGT): The rank of Sergeant awarded to active and effective troopers who have been long standing.

Corporal (CPL): The rank of Corporal is the entry rank for a Squad Leader. This rank is awarded for extremely high activity and dedication to the Squad, and for a proven Trooper.

Lance Corporal (LCP): This rank is awarded to members showing high activity for an extended period of time.

Private First Class (PFC): This rank is awarded to members showing moderately high activity.

Private (PTE): The starting rank for the Imperial Legion, awarded upon successful enlistment.

Cadet (CDT): The rank of Cadet is not so much of an actual rank, as it is a title to distinguish a new recruit applicant from a new officer in training to become an actual Imperial Directorate officer. Cadets hold this title until they successfully complete the mandatory entrance training requirements and graduate from the Central Governor's Directorate Institute (CDGI).

Rank Conversions

In the event that a Commissioned Officer wishes to return to a trooper position (to uphold our fraternization policy) that officer will return to the enlisted rank that corresponds with their commissioned rank at the time they step down. This only works when switching from Officer to Enlisted ranks. When going from Enlisted to Officer the rank is dictated by the position held. Here is the conversion chart.
