CHAPTER EIGHT - 501st LEGION DIVISIONS

Infantry Unit Deployments

The first division within the 501st Legion is the Battalion, which comprises three Companies, each containing four Platoons. A Platoon contains six squads, with each Squad (the smallest unit of the Legion) comprising a total of 6 highly trained and specialized troopers. A Platoon will typically contain one of each of the following specialized Squads: Marines, Desert Assault, Recon/Scout, Cold Assault, Special Operations and Armor. Each Squad is highly specialized in their designated areas, but at any time is capable of functioning in a support role for standard Imperial or Naval Stormtrooper units during battle engagements.

Armored Unit Deployments

Platoon Level:
Each Platoon is assigned One Armored Unit, comprising a force of 1 AT-AT, 2 AT-TEs, 3 AT-STs, 3 AT-PTs, 3 TIE Crawlers, along with a variety of supplemental vehicles at their disposal. The use of the vehicles will be dictated by the Platoon commanders and dependent on the needs of the Imperial Directorate. These armored units are the elite units of the 501st Legion. Only the Squad Leader of a platoon level armored unit is permitted to pilot an AT-AT, as they alone hold the proper training and experience to command such a massive machine of war. Troopers assigned to an Armory Squad are permitted to train through the Imperial University in how to operate each piece of equipment that the Squad utilizes. However it is at the discretion of the Squad Commander and Platoon Commander to determine if that individual is ready and capable to pilot a larger attack vehicle.
